And also that there are different types of piercing depending on where in the ear you pierce.

If you want to know more, to get even more out of your outfits, keep reading because I'm going to tell you a lot of things I've learned about ears.

Categories piercing to show off some ear look very top

all ears they are different and unique. Although the anatomy is similar, they have characteristics that differentiate them. Still you know you can go further and give them your own style.

Thanks to piercings you can create different designs, according to your personality or according to the day. The point is that your ears reflect Who are you and what is your style?

Also remember that if you do not want to pierce you don't have to give up creating fantastic ear look, but then I recommend you read this post: Earcuffs, an adapted classic.

And now, let's review the types of piercing? Maybe gives you some new idea and when you finish reading, you make one more hole in your ears!

1. Lobe and upper lobe

These are the piercings most common, especially since the earring of the lobe is the one that used to put us when we were babies, so many of us have it by default.

The earlobe is the lower part, fleshy and rounded. Some people have it attached to the face and others separate. It doesn't really matter, it's just a genetic quirk (Have you noticed what your parents' ears look like?).

In the lobe we usually wear the largest earrings, and it is also where we like symmetry the most: it is quite common to wear two equal earrings in both lobes.

Although there really are no rules. You can wear different earrings as long as the total composition is balanced and… you like it!, which in the end is the most important thing.

The part known as the upper lobe is located just above the lobe, and is also fleshy. in that area you can make several holes, there is enough space.

2. Helix and counterhelix

The helix is the edge of the ear, the outer cartilage that runs along the side and reaches the top, where we speak of the counterhelix. It is an area with few nerves, so piercing it is somewhat annoying, but it doesn't hurt too much.

The best? Bordering the entire ear, it is a wide area that supports many perforations. How many are recommended? There is no number, the ones you admit without damaging the structure of the auditory pavilion.

However, to give you a hint, three is a reasonable number.

The counterhelix also admits piercings, so consider completing your ear look maybe with some small rings in that area.

3. Antihelix, smoke y daith piercing

Let's go into details and distinguish more parts of the ear:

  • Antihelix or advanced helix: It refers to the part of the cartilage that is already located in the inner part of the ear and attached to the face. Must be professionally drilled as It is an area of difficult access.
  • internal helix or daith piercing: another difficult piercing, in the middle of the ear, but very original and with many aesthetic possibilities if you can do it with guarantees.
  • Smoke or tower: in the inner cartilage of the ear, located in the upper part of the ear. drill that area it becomes more painful since the cartilage is thicker.

As a curiosity, I am going to tell you that it is said that the daith works very well against migraines, because pierces the same place as traditional acupuncture used to treat that ailment.

That is true? It is not proven, and you certainly cannot take it as a therapeutic solution. If you have a problem with your headaches, you should always go to the doctor.

4. Tragus and antitragus

We are now going to the part of the cartilage that is attached to the face and gives entrance to the ear. El tragus piercing It is one of the most demanded.

Just on the opposite side, also marking the entrance to the ear, is the antitragus. If you can do both, they will be great tiny hoops and earrings with simple shapes.

There are more areas in the ear that can be pierced (you didn't think there your ears had so many possibilities!).

If we go inland, in the part flat (flat), located under the helix and on top of the ear, you can place piercings. There is also the conch, at the top of the antitragus…

I would like you to keep in mind that since all ears are different, in some cannot be made certain piercings, because there is no angle to drill safely.

Nothing happens, there are many possibilities anyway, and you always have to ensure that your ears are healthy (the most important thing) and with a design piercings balanced.

Have I given you some ideas? You go to add some piercing more to you ear look after reading this post? I am passionate about multi-piercing, so "I'm all ears" for any idea you want to tell me.
